Joho Quietly Jets Back to the Country after One Month Trip to Europe
Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho has finally returned to the country after one-month absence. His return comes after Kenyans on social media and Mombasa residents raised questions about his whereabouts and how he managed to run the county while abroad for several weeks.
The flamboyant Governor left the country for Estonia in early March for what his spokesman said was a benchmarking trip and also to seek partnership between the European country and his county on various matters including tourism and e-governance.
During the time, photos of Joho engaging in fun activities including ice fishing and snow riding emerged. In what was seen as an attempt to quell questions on his whereabouts, the Governor posted images of himself and Estonian officials engaging in talks on his social media pages.
Joho is said to have jetted back to the country over the Easter holiday and is already going about his duties at his office in the coastal city.
