Elderly Swedish Woman Stranded in Kenya after Spending All Her Cash with a Beach Boy at the Coast

An elderly Swedish woman is stranded in the country after spending all her cash with a young Kenyan beach boy. Anne Rundeck, who is in her 60s, is currently ailing and looks frail but can't seek medical attention due to lack of money.

After arriving in Kenya six years ago, Anne met a young Kenyan man identified as Hamisi Zuya, and fell in love with him.

In 2016, however, her children back in the Europe reportedly discovered their mother's love engagement with the young man and stopped sending her money. She says that her ex-husband also sold her house in Sweden and that she can no longer receive her pension.

“My ex-husband sold our home. That affected my address,” she recently told The Star.

Her passport has since been withheld by the Diani Resort management, where she has been living, after she failed to repay a loan of Sh50,000. “I need to redeem my passport and raise fare for air ticket. It’s not that I miss Europe but I would like to go there get treatment,” she tells The Star.

She further claims that the young man 'abandoned' her after she ran broke.  “After squandering my money, he no longer has time for me. I’m really suffering,” says Rundeck.

The young man, Zuya, refutes the allegations. Responding to the claims, Zuya said: “I’m a hustler. I need time to get a reliable job in order to provide for her.”

Anne cannot afford an air ticket to travel back home and she is now planning to sell her personal items including clothes and phone to raise air fare.
