Tanzania Socialite and Video Vixen Agnes Masogange Dies
Popular Tanzanian socialite and video queen Agnes Masogange has passed away after a short illness.
Tanzania’s EATV reported that Masogange died at Mama Ngoma Hospital in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania on Friday. She succumbed to pneumonia and low blood pressure.
Her lawyer Roben Simwanza said she was suffering from pneumonia and was pronounced dead while receiving treatment.
Two weeks ago, the court had ordered the video vixen to pay a fine of Sh66,000 (Tzs1.5 million) or serve a two-year jail term after Resident Magistrate Wilbard Mashauri found her guilty of using the narcotics.
The socialite was first taken to Kisutu Resident Magistrate’s Court in 2017, where she was charged with two counts of using heroin Diacetyl and Oxazepam. Following months of legal battle, she was convicted for using the mentioned drugs.
She was ordered to pay a Sh44,000 (Tzs1 million) fine for the first offence or serve a two-year jail term and a further Sh22,000 (Tzs500,000) or serve a one-year jail term for the second offence.
