Kenyan Olympic 5000 meters champion Vivian Cheruiyot and her male Olympic champion counterpart Eliud Kipchoge have won the 2018 London Marathon in the women and men categories respectively.

Vivian clocked a Personal Best (PB) of 2:18:31 to win the London Marathon honors, becoming the fourth fastest woman in history.  She upstaged pre-race favorite and three-time London Marathon winner Mary Keitany to clinch her first title over the distance and leading Brigid Koskei (2:20:13) to a Kenyan 1-2 finish.

Tadelech Bekele of Ethiopia came third on 2:21:30, while Keitany settled for fourth-place after taking an early lead at the initial stages of the race.

In the men race, Olympic champion Eliud Kipchoge sealed a record-equaling third London title after clocking 2:04:27.

Kipchoge finished more than half a minute in front of Ethiopia's Tola Kitata (2:05:00), while Mo Farah of Britain timed 2:06:32 for third-place.
