Raila Doesn't Own NRM. Ignore Him and Continue with Products Boycott, Miguna Tells Nasa Supporters
Self-declared National Resistance Movement (NRM) general Miguna Miguna has dismissed opposition leader Raila Odinga's earlier decision to lift a boycott on products from different companies announced by National Super Alliance (Nasa) after last year's presidential elections.
In his speech during this year's Labor Day Celebrations at Uhuru Park grounds on Tuesday, Odinga announced the end of the boycott and urged supporters to now buy products from Safaricom, Brookside, Haco Industries and Bidco.
“Our supporters are now free to use products from these companies we’d asked them to boycott last year,” said Odinga.
However, in a swift rejoinder, Miguna urged Opposition supporters to ignore Raila's announcement and continue with the civil disobedience.
"Patriots, ignore Raila's purported lifting for the boycott against companies that are were involved in the electoral theft of 2017, the subversion of the rule of law and the constitution. He doesn't own NRM or the resist movements. Continue the resistance," he said in a tweet.
Nasa had accused the four firms of conniving with President Kenyatta's Jubilee Party in subverting the will of Kenyans during last year's presidential polls.
Miguna's tweet attracted hundreds of reactions from Kenyans on Twitter, some supporting his push, while other dismissed him.
