Presidency Isn't for Socialites: Nyali MP 'Moha Jicho Pevu' Pokes Holes on Governor Joho's 2022 Presidential Bid
Nyali Member of Parliament Mohammed Ali alias 'Moha Jicho Pevu' has launched fresh attacks at his political nemesis Governor Hassan Joho of Mombasa over his 2022 presidential bid.
The first time MP trashed Joho's presidential ambitions in the next general elections, stating that he lacks vision and can't, therefore lead the nation.
Ali described the flamboyant Governor as a failed leader, noting that his poor track development track record as the Governor of the coastal city, disqualifies him from running for the country's top seat.
"It is even unimaginable for someone whose priorities include taking selfies and attending weddings to say he wants to be president. Presidency is not mere child's play and needs a firm visionary man not a socialite," said Ali.
"The presidential ambition is only in his dreams. The dream is a bad one, barren and will never come to fruition so he needs to wake up and give the people of Mombasa quality services first," Ali added.
The former investigative journalist said things had gotten out of hand in Mombasa under Joho's leadership and urged President Kenyatta and Deputy President William Ruto to intervene and restore the coastal city to its former glory.
"I support devolution entirely but we now need the assistance of the president and his deputy to bring Mombasa back to its city status. The county gets a huge budget every year but the administration has failed to respond to queries by the auditor general concerning KSh 7 billion," said Ali.
"Some MCAs have been bought like doughnuts and cannot stand on behalf of the voters and call this mess to and end. Things are slowly getting out of shape and we will all be together against the collapsing of Mombasa," Ali said.
The rivalry between Joho and Ali began when the latter failed to clinch the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party ticket during last year's primaries, accusing Joho of rigging him out. Ali, however, went ahead to trounce ODM candidate in Nyali parliamentary seat after vying on an independent ticket.
