President Kenyatta Fires Tourism Principal Secretary Fatuma Hirsi

President Uhuru Kenyatta has fired Tourism Principal Secretary Fatuma Mohamed Hirsi.

In a letter of termination sent to her by Head of Public Service Joseph Kinyua and copied to Tourism Cabinet Secretary Najib Balala, Ms Fatuma was asked to leave office by June 30th.

"Your employment contract has been terminated forthwith. You will be paid your salary up to June 30, which will be your last working day," it read in part.

Hirsi was also ordered to hand over to the Wildlife Principal Secretary. President Kenyatta appointed her to the position in November 2015.

It is not clear why the President decided to terminate her employment contract.
