Miguna Miguna Backs Deputy President William Ruto's 2022 Bid
Self-declared National Resistance Movement (NRM) general Miguna Miguna has backed Deputy President William Ruto's early campaigns for 2022 presidential elections.
In a tweet, the firebrand lawyer said that, although he doesn't support the Deputy President's state house bid, he has a right to criss-cross the country to sell his candidature.
Miguna, who was kicked out of the country by immigration authorities in February and March, said it was dishonest for Opposition leader Raila Odinga to attack Ruto for the 'premature' campaigns.
Miguna tweeted: “I don’t support WilliamsRuto and believe that he is as corrupt as UKenyatta, Daniel Moi, Jomo Kenyatta & other KANU Orphans, but it is extremely dishonest for RailaOdinga to keep yelling at Ruto to stop 2022 campaigns. Everyone has a right to campaign for what he believes in."
Raila has launched a series of attacks at Ruto over his numerous tours across the country, terming his forays as premature campaigns that risks polarizing the country.
“Wacha kurandaranda hapa na pale, kutangatanga ati wewe unasema: ‘Mimi nitakuwa Rais mwaka 2022’. (Stop loitering and wandering around saying you will be President come 2022). How do you know that? It is Kenyans who will elect their President,” Odinga said in Mombasa over the weekend.
