#CongratulationsMheshimiwa: Kenyans On Twitter Troll MPs Operating Under 'Tangatanga Movement'

John Wanjohi Jul 05, 2018

Kenyans on Twitter (KoT) have now gone for Deputy President William Ruto's allies who have been advancing 2022 succession politics at the expense of serving Mwananchi.

Using a sarcastic hashtag “#Congratulations Mheshimiwa”, the online users highlighted some of the unfulfilled promises by the politicians who are going around the country with the Deputy President under the "tangatanga movement."

Some of the leaders targeted in the campaign include; Senate Majority Leader Kipchumba Murkomen, MPs Moses Kuria (Gatundu South), Ndindi Nyoro (Kiharu), Kimani Ichung'wa (Kikuyu), Charles Jaguar (Starehe) and Purity Ngirici (Kirinyaga) among others.

The MPs were trolled and mocked by Kenyans online over their premature campaigns at the time when the country is in dire need of services such as infrastructure, health and education.

@PolycarpHinga said: "These our amazing waheshimiwas like @KIMANIICHUNGWAH , @HonMoses_Kuria and @kipmurkomen deserve medals and a pay rise for completing their work early. All that's left for them is to go around politicking about 2022.#CongratulationsMheshimiwa."

@FrankGanda tweeted: "#CongratulationsMheshimiwa we now have five new well equipped stadiums. We can now comfortably host world cup, CECAFA, African Cup of nations and at least one rugby series match. Thanks for your efforts."

@Muhahami noted about MP Moses Kuria:"#CongratulationsMheshimiwa
The 2022 elections Shouting from Gatundu south is reaching high decibels! The constituency work is done! Heko Mheshimiwa!"

@NezzohIan said: "After furnishing all the roads now you can honestly ask for votes #CongratulationsMheshimiwa."

@NezzohIan said about Starehe MP Charles "Jaguar": "Your music makes us forget the potholes , very good work. Now let's focus on 2022 #CongratulationsMheshimiwa."

Elgeyo-Marakwet senator Murkomen said the persons behind the #CongratulationsMheshimiwa were senior officials in the Office of the President who were against Ruto’s 2022 presidential bid.

“A group of bloggers who worked for us in the last elections and attached to one of the officers I alluded to recently are now offering 'congratulatory' messages to Kuria, Kangata, Ichungwa, Nyoro, myself among others,” tweeted Murkomen.
