Police Gun Down 11 Suspected Criminals in Nairobi
Police in Nairobi shot dead 11 suspected thugs in different robbery incidents across city estates on Friday night.
Four suspects were gunned down in Buruburu estate after they stole a purse and a mobile phone from a woman. They were killed by officers patrolling the area while attempting to escape on motorbikes. Two pistols, six rounds of ammunition and the stolen items were recovered.
Two other criminals on a motorcycle were killed in Umoja Innercore, while two thugs were gunned in a fire exchange with cops at Garden Estate at around 11 pm. Officers drawn from the Special Crime Prevention Unit seized a pistol with seven bullets as two other suspects escaped.
At Mowlem Heights Estate in Maili Saba area, police shot dead a wanted criminal nicknamed ‘Kifaru’. He was allegedly planning to steal from a shopping mall in the area.
In another shooting incident in Ridgeways near Muthaiga estate, two other criminals were shot dead after opening fire at police. They shot at the officers after they were ordered to identify themselves.
