Deputy President William Ruto Endorses Kalonzo's Move to Work with Jubilee
Deputy President William Ruto has welcomed Wiper party's decision to work with President Kenyatta in the achievement of the Big Four agenda.
Speaking at a church service in Machakos County on Sunday, Ruto hailed Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka, terming his decision to rally party members behind Jubilee as selfless.
“The decision by Wiper and their leaders led by Kalonzo Musyoka to join Jubilee is a very important decision. As the government and Jubilee Party, we welcome the partnership of all parties, most recently the Wiper party. We welcome them so that we can work together as leaders and focus our attention, energy and effort in ensuring we transform our country,” the Deputy President said.
“Matters of roads, water, education, jobs, universal healthcare… Those are the issues that should now occupy us as leaders as we work together to ensure that our country is better than it is today.”
During its National Executive Council meeting held at Wiper headquarters in Karen, Nairobi on Saturday, the party resolved to work with President Uhuru and Jubilee administration in moving the country forward and fighting corruption.
“After consultations with our greater membership and party structures, we commit to work with President Uhuru Kenyatta in his fight against corruption as well as his broad agenda of transforming this country under the Big Four agenda,” said Kalonzo Musyoka in a press briefing.
“Our nation has always been equipped to serve the needs of all Kenyans and spur economic progress but rampant corruption has been a major hindrance. We therefore laud President Kenyatta’s effort to decisively deal with corruption and set the stage for the Big Four agenda.”
