John Wanjohi Aug 15, 2018

British Prime Minister Theresa May is set to visit Kenya later this month.

Her visit to the country was announced on Wednesday by Foreign Affairs Cabinet Secretary Ambassador Monica Juma, reports Nairobi News. President Uhuru Kenyatta will host May at State House in Nairobi on August 30.

Ms Juma said more details of May's visit to the country would be revealed later.

Her visit will come two days after President Uhuru's meeting with US President Donald Trump at the White House in Washington.

The meeting between President Trump and Kenyatta was announced by the White House in a statement issued last week.

“The meeting between the two leaders will reaffirm the longstanding relationship between the United States and Kenya as a cornerstone of peace and stability in Africa and the broader Indo-Pacific region,” read part of the statement.

“President Trump and President Kenyatta will explore ways to bolster trade and investment between the two countries, while strengthening security cooperation.”
