President Uhuru Kenyatta is on Monday expected to hold talks with his United States counterpart Donald Trump at the White House in Washington, DC.

Kenyatta arrived in the US in company of First Lady Margaret on Saturday afternoon ahead of the much anticipated meeting with Trump.

An itinerary published on Fact Base on President Trump's Public Schedule shows Kenyatta and First Lady Margaret will arrive at the White House on Monday 8:45 pm East African Time (1:45 pm Eastern US time).

The two will be received at the South Portico by President Trump and the First Lady Melania Trump.

The four will then proceed to a bilateral meeting at 8:55 pm (EAT) at the Oval Office, the working office space of POTUS located in the West Wing of the White House.

This will be followed by an expanded bilateral meeting between Kenyatta and Trump at the Cabinet Room at 9:15 pm Kenyan time. The First Ladies will go to a separate session.

Later Kenya's delegation led Cabinet Secretaries Monica Juma (Foreign Affairs), Henry Rotich (Treasury), and James Macharia (Transport) will join the talks.

Others include Trade Principal Secretary Chris Kiptoo, Majority Leaders Aden Duale (National Assembly), Kipchumba Murkomen (Senate), State House Chief of Staff Nzioka Waita and Kenya's envoy to US Njeru Githae.

Top on the agenda of the discussions will be trade and investment and regional security.

The itinerary also indicates there will be press coverage and brief photo sessions at the White House during the arrival and the Oval House meeting.

On the sidelines of the visit, President Kenyatta is also expected to meet business leaders in the US to market Kenya as an investment hub.
