John Wanjohi Oct 04, 2018

Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) Terminal 2 will be closed ahead of US First Lady Melania Trump's arrival on Thursday night.

In a notice, the Kenya Airports Authority (KAA) said the terminal will be out of bounds to the public from Thursday 5:30pm to 9:00pm, when Mrs Trump will land in Kenya.

KAA further announced the same terminal will be closed on Saturday from midnight to 9:00am in preparation for her departure.

“During this time, all domestic flight operations handled at T2 will be handled at JKIA’s terminal 1D. Terminal 1E will be used for international arrivals and terminal 1B for international departures."

“Passengers are advised to be at the JKIA at least three hours before departure time to allow enough time for airport security checks,” said the public notice.

While in Kenya, Melania is expected to hold a meeting with President Uhuru and First Lady Margaret Kenyatta, visit the Kenya National Theatre as well as a few children homes within Nairobi.
