Kenya's Eric Omondi Bags Best African Comedian Award in the US

Kenyan comedian Eric Omondi has scooped Best African Comedian award at the 4th annual African Entertainment Awards, USA (AEAUSA).

Omondi beat the likes of Nigeria’s Basketmouth, Salvado of Uganda and his compatriot Chipukeezy to bag the award during a ceremony held in New Jersey on Sunday.

Omondi has built his reputation as one of the most celebrated entertainers in the continent and beyond through frequent shows abroad, especially in the US.

Other notable entertainers who won top awards during the AEAUSA 2018 include Tanzania singer Diamond Platnumz (Best Male Artist of the year) and his brother Romy Jones (Best DJ of the year). Yemi Alade of Nigeria won the Best Female Artist of the year.

Best collaboration of the year went to Diamond Platnumz ft Omarion (African beauty) while Kenya's Sauti Sol was named Hottest group in the continent.
