Migori Governor Okoth Obado Attends Church Service after Release from Jail, Admits He's in a Difficult Situation

Embattled Migori Governor Okoth Obado has admitted he is in a difficult situation and urged members of his church to pray for him.

Okoth made his first public appearance since his release from jail when he attended a service at Upper Hill Seventh Day Adventist Church in Migori on Saturday.

In compliance with the bail conditions, the Governor didn't comment about the case where he's charged with the murder of Rongo University student Sharon Otieno and her seven-month-old unborn baby.

"I have missed the church since we came from the camp meeting but I thank God for granting us peace and life up to this time. I request you to put me on your prayers during this hard times," he said.

"Pray for me because I am in a difficult situation, and remain united and peaceful."

Obado has also avoided his palatial residence in Rapogi area since it lies within the 20-kilometre radius from the boundary with Homa Bay County that the court prohibited him from crossing.

It remains unclear where the ODM Governor proceeded after the church service but reports indicate he is staying at his home in Nairobi.

Obado was freed on bail on Wednesday after staying at the Industrial Area Remand Prison for four weeks.
