"Buy Them TVs": Governor Ferdinand Waititu Advises Kiambu Men on How to Keep their Wives Happy

John Wanjohi Nov 02, 2018

Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu has advised men on how to keep their women happy.

Waititu has urged men to invest in good housing and purchase television sets for their women, arguing that TVs are known to put women in "good moods.'

“Let me advise you because you might not be knowledgeable. If you buy a TV and take it to your wife, that day she will bite her finger and say that tonight you will know that you have done a great job,” he said while addressing a group of men enrolled in his Kaa Sober program.

“You must learn how to sweet-talk your women, not just going to your houses to stamp authority. Sometimes it’s good to bring changes in the house.”

Kaa Sober is an initiative by Waititu that seeks to rehabilitate Kiambu men who are addicted to alcohol and other drugs. The addicts are paid Sh400 daily by the Governor to do manual jobs such as bush clearing.

“Naturally, Kikuyu men love women and kids than anything else, followed by TV and a sofa set so that as the man relaxes on the sofa watching TV, playing with kids, he can look on the other side and see his woman. That is the typical Kikuyu man,” adds Waititu.

“Married men are always excited when darkness beckons but for bachelors, when they remember that they have to face a long night full of darkness alone till dawn, sadness envelopes them."
