Meru Senator Mithika Linturi Barred from Accessing His Runda Home after Threatening to Kill Estranged Wife
The court has barred Meru Senator Mithika Linturi from accessing his matrimonial home in Runda Estate.
This comes after his wife, Marianne Jebet Kitany obtained restraining orders against the politician following a scuffle between them two weeks ago, where the Senator allegedly brandished a gun and threatened to kill her.
In his ruling, Milimani Commercial Court Senior Resident Magistrate I. Orenge has given exclusive occupation of the matrimonial home to Ms. Kitany and barred the Senator from going near the residence or any other place where his wife visits.
“Restraining the respondent from watching, loitering near or preventing or hindering access to and from the shared residence, Keitany’s office, or places that she visits often,” the judge says.
He has also been ordered not to make any contact with his estranged wife unless authorized by the court. “Restrain Linturi from engaging in any behavior which amounts to emotional, verbal or psychological abuse of his wife,” the order further reads.
Keitany previously worked as the chief of staff in Deputy President William Ruto’s office and currently operates a businesswoman.
Senator Linturi has also been barred from damaging property and intimidating, harassing or stalking Keitany.
