Former Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) commissioner Dr. Roselyn Akombe has called for an inquest into the murder of Chris Msando.

Taking to social media, Akombe has urged the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) to order an inquest into the killing of Msando, who was IEBC's director in charge of ICT at the time of his death.

Akombe has promised to avail herself for questioning should the DCI call for an inquiry into Msando's murder.

“Looking forward to the DCI requesting a public inquest into the brutal torture and murder of my IEBC colleague Chris Msando and Ms. Ngumbu. I confirm my availability to be interviewed under oath,” she says in a tweet.

Akombe was reacting to news that DCI George Kinoti has ordered Nyeri Chief Magistrate to conduct a public inquest into the death of Nyeri Governor Wahome Gakuru, who lost his life after a tragic road crash along Nyeri-Nairobi highway in November last year.

Msando was brutally murdered and his body dumped in a thicket in Kikuyu area, Kiambu County days to August 8th,2017 general election.

Akombe resigned from the commission a week to October 26th repeat presidential election and fled to the United States citing death threats among other reasons.
