Girl Narrates Her Troubled Relationship with Retired President Moi's Grandson Collins after Hotel Bill Saga
After she was detained for one week after her boyfriend abandoned her at a high-end hotel with an unpaid bill of more than Sh100,000, Marsha Amario has shared details about her troubled relationship with Collins Moi, the grandson of retired President Moi.
Ms. Amario, daughter of the late Naivasha-based businessman Fai Omar Amario, says they met in 2017 at Karen Hospital, where she had gone for mental counseling sessions while Collins was taking alcoholism counseling classes.
Collins approached her and their friendship quickly transformed into a romantic relationship. Marsha discloses that she was epileptic and distressed but Collins became so helpful as he secured tutorials for her on how to manage her condition.
“He used to read a lot about remedies for my ailment on the internet. He also bought several books to assist me to live a normal life,” she tells Nairobi News.
“He used to call me his ‘wife’ and he even went to the extent of visiting our Naivasha home to meet my stepmother,” she notes.
She was convinced she had finally met the right man for her since her previous boyfriends were only interested with her family's wealth.
Their relationship grew and after some time, Collins moved in with her in an apartment she rented in Nairobi's Lavington estate.
This is where the trouble began as she would pay for everything including rent and food from her business, with the boyfriend bringing nothing to the table. She also says Collins would frequently borrow cash from her with the promise of paying back but that didn't happen.
One day, Collins brought her chips from a 'kibanda' and a small soda but bought himself an expensive bottle of alcohol. This was after she requested him to bring her some food.
“He once used my phone to make calls and after exhausting airtime, he took advance credit of more than Sh1, 000 which I had to repay whenever I wanted to make calls. When I questioned his actions he slapped me and started beating me up,” she says adding that he even threatens to kill her.
“I was bleeding since he beat me on a spot I had been operated on. I suffered internal bleeding and blood was also oozing out of my ears,” she narrates.
They separated for a short period and reconciled after Collins reached out to her several times, asking forgiveness.
“I think withstood all this because I have been rejected by my family. I was afraid of being alone so I took all the abuse,” she notes.
On December 29th, Collins took her to Skynest Hotel in Kitale to 'treat' her as she celebrated her 30th birthday but it turned out to be a bad experience that she blames herself for.
Collins accrued a bill of over Sh100, 000 during their stay at Skynest and left the hotel on the fifth day, leaving her behind.
“I blame myself although I never imagined it would come to this. Because it was my birthday I expected things to be different. I only realized much later that things were getting chaotic when he started borrowing money and taking things while promising to pay,” she explains.
“My family has the ability to help me out of this situation but they have decided to turn their backs on me,” she says.
She says her relationship with Collins is over and will never take him back due to the humiliation and trauma he has caused her.
“I will either be abnormal, cursed or stupid to continue loving this man because no man does such a thing to a woman he loves. I’ve stopped believing in love, it doesn’t exist, it’s just a myth. Maybe what exists is love for money, love for alcohol… but there is nothing like loving someone. This man has ruined my life,” she says.
