Miguna Miguna Accuses Uhuru, Raila of Using Proxies to Fight Ruto

John Wanjohi Jan 25, 2019

Deported Kenyan-Canadian lawyer Miguna Miguna has accused President Kenyatta and opposition leader Raila Odinga of fighting Deputy President William Ruto.

Miguna claims that Kenyatta and Odinga are using proxies to tame Ruto, who has set his eyes on the presidency.

Miguna describes the two as cowards, saying that they should face Ruto head-on instead of using agents.

"It is cowardly for both Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga to fight William Ruto through proxies," Miguna says in a tweet.

He adds: "Instead of using their party dogs to fight William Ruto, they should face him head-on. Don't shadow-box. Charge him in court for corruption. Let Kenyans see the fireworks now; not later."

There has been growing concerns over whether President Kenyatta will honor his promise of supporting Ruto's 2022 presidential bid following last year's handshake with Odinga.

Politicians allied to Ruto have accused Odinga of taking advantage of the handshake to sink Jubilee party and cripple the Deputy President's quest to succeed President Kenyatta.
