Man Receives Sh250,000 for House Damaged by President Uhuru's Chopper
A man whose house was destroyed by a helicopter carrying President Kenyatta in 2017 has received compensation.
The roof of James Keah's house was blown away as President Uhuru's chopper landed at Kizurini Secondary School in Kaloleni, Kilifi County ahead of a campaign rally.
Keah has received Sh250, 000 from President Kenyatta as compensation for the damage caused to his house.
The cash has been handed to him by the Coast Regional Coordinator John Elungata and Kilifi County Commissioner Magu Mutindika.
“We are here to visit Mr. Keah who is a neighbor of the school where President Kenyatta had come to visit on October 10, 2017, when he came to tour the school. During his tour, some of the choppers that had landed generated a strong gust of wind damaging his house,” says Elungata.
“We are a little bit late, but as the adage goes better late than never. We are here to give him a small token of Sh250, 000 from the president to enable him to repair his house."
Keah could not hide his joy when he received the cash from the two government officers.
“I’m thankful for the head of state; I did not think I would ever get such an amount of money to repair my house. This is an indication that our president cares for the less fortunate like me, he is respectful. I will now embark on repairing my house,” Keah says.
