Deputy President William Ruto Denies Link to Four Americans Killed in Turkana Chopper Crash

Deputy President William Ruto has denied he had any links with the four American nationals who perished in a helicopter crash in Turkana two weeks ago.

Ruto has disowned the four following reports that they were his campaign strategists.

The four were identified as Brandon Hower Stapper, David Mark Baker, Kyle John Forti, and Anders Jesiah Burke.

The Star reports that the four US nationals were top political consultants and had been hired by Ruto to formulate an elaborate campaign plan for his 2022 presidential bid.

Ruto's spokesperson David Mugonyi has, however, dismissed the reports, saying the four did not work for the Deputy President.

“Staffs who work for the DP are known and are based in his office,” states Mugonyi.

Before his death, Burke was an entrepreneur and run a political campaign firm known as Campaign Services Group.

"We specialize in aggressive political campaigns and direct voter contact, including fundraising mail, for political campaigns and non-profit organizations," reads part of the firm's website.

Strapper operated design companies while Kyle Forti co-founded a political consulting firm, the Star reports.

The four perished alongside Ruto's pilot, Captain Mario Magonga, in a chopper crash at Labolo in Central Island National Park in Turkana County.
