Immigration Detectives Arrest Nairobi Woman Behind Fake Birth, Death Certificates Syndicate

John Wanjohi Mar 27, 2019

Detectives attached to the Immigration Department have arrested a woman for allegedly printing and selling fake birth and death certificates.

The suspect identified as Jackline Kwamboka Abuga has been arrested in Nairobi following a trap laid by DCI detectives attached to the Immigration Department.

Ms. Abuga has allegedly been carrying out the illegal activities at her house in Nairobi's Kawangware Estate.

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) says the suspect has been selling the documents to gullible Kenyans.

“The suspect has been printing the birth & death certificates at her house in Kawangare and selling them to unsuspecting Kenyans. She was arrested a few days ago after detectives laid a trap for her,” says the DCI in a statement.

Police have recovered a computer, printer, seal for civil registrations and other assorted documents from her house during the arrest.

She has been arraigned in a Nairobi court, where she has been charged with forgery.

The DCI says an operation has been launched to nab all those involved in the fake certificates syndicate.
