Former Sports CS Rashid Echesa Attacks President Uhuru, Accuses Him of Lying to Kenyans

John Wanjohi Apr 01, 2019

Former Sports Cabinet Secretary Rashid Echesa has attacked President Kenyatta over the recent trade talks with his Ugandan counterpart Yoweri Museveni.

Echesa accuses Kenyatta of plotting to kill the Kenyan sugar sector and trying to monopolize the dairy industry.

He says the deal between Uhuru and Museveni, allowing Uganda to export sugar, chicken, milk, and eggs to Kenya will kill the agricultural sector in the Western region.

"The President is lying to Kenyans that Uganda will export milk to Kenya yet the milk that is entering the country from Uganda such as Fresh Dairies is part of Brookside Dairies," claims Echesa.

Brookside is associated with the Kenyatta family.

Echesa also claims Kenyatta lied when he said that the government is trying to revive the collapsed Webuye Pan-Paper Mill.

"Uhuru lied to Museveni when he asked him about the Pan-Paper mill, that it was being revived when he knows very well that he sold it to his friend,” he notes.

“They want to sell the companies just like they did with Pan-Paper which was sold to Rai who has since converted it into go-downs to store his sugar."

His attacks on Kenyatta come weeks after the President fired from the Cabinet after serving as Sports CS for a year.

Echesa has been demanding the President to explain why he sacked him.
