A video of angry Kenyan passengers beating up a matatu crew for allegedly driving recklessly has gone viral on social media.

In the clip, some passengers are seen chasing and beating up the driver and conductor of a 14-seater matatu registration KCL 740B belonging to Lina Sacco.

The PSV was reportedly headed to Nairobi from Limuru when the incident happened.

One of the passengers is heard accusing the driver of endangering their lives by over speeding.

He poses: “Tumemkataza kukimbia, anataka kutuua kwa nini?” (Loosely translated to: “We have asked the driver to stop over speeding, why does he want to kill us?)

Kenyans online have reacted to the footage, hailing the brave commuters for taking action against the rogue matatu crew.

@kiplangatlonary tweets:"Awwwww! Rare phenomenon to find Kenyans who have can take charge and not depend on bribe-taking boyscouts in blue...NO TO Reckless driving."
