The National Treasury - Pensions Department in consultation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is working out modalities for a headcount of all pensioners living in the Diaspora. This has been announcement in a memo by the Kenyan Embassy in Washington, DC, dated April 24th, 2019.

“We wish to inform Kenyans in USA and Mexico that the National Treasury, Pensions Department in consultation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is working out modalities for the headcount of pensioners in the Diaspora and the Mission will communicate the same in due course,” reads the memo from the Embassy.

This is part of a headcount and cleansing exercise that the Pensions Department under the National Treasury has been going on at Huduma Centers in Kenya since February 11th, adds the Embassy.

The aim of the headcount exercise is to “ascertain the exact number of Kenyans who are under the public pensions scheme for budgetary allocation purposes,” says the National Treasury.

More information on the exercise for Kenyans living in the United States and Mexico will be communicated by the Embassy soon.
