Enraged Kenyan Junior Police Officer Shoots Dead His Boss
A junior Kenyan police officer has shot dead his boss for allegedly transferring him from his duty station.
The yet to be named cop reportedly killed his boss at their police camp in Maralal town, Samburu County on Saturday.
Confirming the incident, Samburu County Police Commander Karanja Muiruri says the enraged officer stormed into the camp and opened fire, killing his senior on the spot.
Muiruri says the officer was arrested after he was overpowered and disarmed by his colleagues.
Muiruri says the motive of the attack is yet to be established but investigations have commenced.
Speaking to a local daily, an officer at the camp, who sought anonymity, says the suspect was unhappy with his boss's decision to transfer him from a construction site that he had been manning.
The body of the victim was taken to the Samburu County Referral Hospital Mortuary.
The suspect will be arraigned in court and charged once an investigation into the incident is completed.
