Family Seeks US Help in Row over 400-Acre Land with Man Claiming to be President Uhuru's Kin

A Nairobi-based family has sought the intervention of the United States to solve a 49-year land row with a man claiming to be President Kenyatta's relative.

The Daily Nation reports that Robert Lloyd Humphrey and his wife Margaret Wamaitha Humphrey reached out to the US envoy Kyle McCarter to help them resolve a dispute over a 400-acre parcel of land located in Nairobi.

Nicholas Nzioka Ndambuki, a businessman who claims to be President Kenyatta's nephew, also lays claim to the property.

The Humphreys claim that they acquired the land located in Mlolongo on October 1st, 1970 from Beacon Ranch Limited for Sh30,000 and have been living there since then.

Mr. Ndambuki has allegedly been claiming ownership of the property despite the National Land Commission, through a task force constituted in 2011 by former Security Minister George Saitoti, declaring that the parcel belonged to the Humphreys.

The publication noted that Ndambuki disowned a family that raised him and claims that his real mother, Wanjiku Kahore is President Uhuru's sister.

He was reportedly charged with forging ownership documents for the 400-acre contested land in 2014.

Ambassador McCarter reportedly promised to follow up the matter and established why the late Saitoti task force's recommendations were not implemented.
