Bomet Governor Joyce Laboso to Leave London Hospital for Further Treatment in India

John Wanjohi Jun 26, 2019

Bomet Governor Dr. Joyce Laboso is set to leave United Kingdom's Royal Marden NHS Foundation Trust Hospital to seek further treatment in India.

Laboso was admitted to the London-based hospital 27 days ago for treatment for an undisclosed ailment.

According to Daily Nation, County Chief of Staff Jayne Sigilai informed some Bomet MCAs that Governor Laboso would travel to India for further medical care once she is discharged.

"The governor is doing well but she is expected to be referred to a hospital in India to be attended to by another set of doctors," Mrs. Sigilai said.

Laboso left the country for the UK on May 29th after handing over duties to Deputy Governor Hillary Barchok.

Her office announced she was taking a one-month medical leave, ending months of public speculation that she was unwell. Prior to that, she had not been seen in public for weeks.

“The Governor assures Bomet residents and stakeholders that the running of government functions and activities will continue as normal with no interruption, “said Bomet Director of Communications Ezra Kirui.
