PS Karanja Kibicho Files Complaint with DCI Accusing DP William Ruto of Harassing Him

Interior Principal Secretary Karanja Kibicho has accused Deputy President William Ruto of harassment.

Kibicho reportedly filed a complaint with Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) over alleged harassment by Ruto about a month ago, according to The Standard.

PS Kibicho is said to have filed the complaint on Wednesday after he was summoned at the DCI headquarters for grilling over the alleged plot to assassinate Ruto.

He is among top government officials accused of plotting to eliminate Ruto over his 2022 presidential bid.

Others are Cabinet Secretaries Joe Mucheru (ICT), Sicily Kariuki (Health), Peter Munya (Trade), and James Macharia (Infrastructure).

Kibicho's complaint is in connection with an alleged confrontation between him and Ruto at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) a few weeks ago.

The two are said to have exchanged bitter words as they waited to welcome back President Kenyatta, who had traveled to Rwanda for a State visit.

Ruto allegedly reprimanded PS Kibicho, accusing him of undermining his authority as the Deputy President.

Ruto questioned Kibicho's decision to order county commissioners to withdraw security officers during his countrywide tours.

“Everyone present including the service commanders were taken by surprise. Nobody uttered a word as the lecture by the visibly angry Ruto continued,” a source told The Standard.
