MP Moses Kuria, Miguna Miguna Engage in Twitter Spat

John Wanjohi Jun 29, 2019

Gatundu South Member of Parliament Moses Kuria on Saturday engaged in a Twitter spat with deported Kenyan lawyer Miguna Miguna.

The exchange of words began after Miguna sarcastically congratulated Kuria over his remarks about an impending revolution in the country.

MP Kuria made the remarks after he was tear-gassed by anti-riot police officers while demanding the release of Starehe MP Charles 'Jaguar' Njagua.

Jaguar was arrested on Wednesday outside Parliament buildings over alleged incitement against foreigner investors.

“I welcome the despotic apologist Moses Kuria’s sudden discovery that no one should be PERSECUTED for exercising his/her right to FREE SPEECH. Kuria is a notorious cartel surrogate who celebrated and may have participated in Chris Msando’s murder and my torture," Miguna tweeted.

In response, MP Kuria sarcastically said he was ready to be sworn-in by Miguna like he administered an 'oath' to Orange Democratic Movement leader Raila Odinga.

"You will still swear me in. Mimi na Baba. You are just a notary public and a commissioner of oaths for the real men like me and Baba @RailaOdinga," said Kuria.

Miguna hit back at Kuria saying it would take long for him to be who he is- a global professional.

“Mafia chauvinist Kuria: it will take you five lifetimes and five new brains to become a barrister, solicitor, advocate, commissioner for oaths and notary public. It’s normal for a colonized mind to delude itself that a primitive orangutang is superior to a global professional,” noted Miguna.

Kuria replied by ridiculing Miguna's use of heavy English words, urging him to stop tweeting him in Dholuo.

"Let’s restrict this to English. It’s pointless to insult me in Dholuo when you know I do not understand the language. Orangutang ni nini sasa?" posed Kuria.

Miguna responded by saying: "You did not understand my Tweet. Thanks."

This is not the first time the two have engaged in a bitter exchange of words on social media.
