A male taxi driver who had been arrested on Tuesday for allegedly sexually assaulting a 13-year-old schoolboy has been released on cash bail.

The suspect; Fredrick Mungai Njenga was arraigned in Shanzu Law Courts on Wednesday but did not take plea after the judge faulted the wording on the charge sheet.

Ngenga was released on a cash bail of Sh50,000 by Senior Resident Magistrate Yusuf Shikanda, who asked the prosecution to redraft the charge sheet and the suspect to reappear in court on July 23rd for plea taking.

“According to law, it is not “indecent act” since the mouth is not a genital organ. That is not a proper charge against the suspect. Find a proper charge,” Magistrate Shikanda told the Prosecution.

Njenga, an Uber driver, is accused of sexually assaulting the minor as he drove him home from school in Nyali, Mombasa.

He allegedly forced the class 8 pupil to lick his private parts after locking him inside his car on July 15th at Bombolulu area.
