A University of Nairobi (UoN) lecturer has been arrested after the lifeless body of her son was found at her house in Nairobi’s South B area.

The decomposing body of the 13-year-old boy was found wrapped in a blanket inside their house in Kifaru Estate, South B.

Police were called to the scene after neighbors smelled a stench emanating from the house belonging to Anna Khahugan, a nursing lecturer at UoN.

Nairobi Police Commander Philip Ndolo said Ms. Anna was found hiding in the kitchen after officers broke down the door and entered the house.

“The suspect was in the house at the time. We are investigating the incident,” said Ndolo.

She reportedly told police that her son fell ill in the house but her religious beliefs do not allow them to seek medical treatment, according to Citizen Digital.

Ms. Anna is currently being held at Industrial Area Police Station as investigations into the death of the boy continue.
