I Didn't Break Up with My Italian Girlfriend Chantal, Comedian Eric Omondi Says
Kenyan comedian, Eric Omondi says he did not separate with his Italian girlfriend, Chantal Grazioli as many believe.
In an interview with Rembo TV, the award-winning entertainer confessed that they stage-managed their break up in May this year.
The two separately took to social media in May to announce that they had agreed to mutually end their relationship.
“It has been four and a half years since we started out. Since we seem not to be making any progress. First of all, Chantal is young and I consider myself a bit old. I feel like I have been a stumbling block for her as my career has been progressing yet, as she committed to making this work, hers has been stagnating,” Omondi said in May.
"She has been ensuring that my brand works but what am I doing for her? It is a long-distance relationship because her family lives in Italy and she only comes here for like six months to visit me. I am not growing any younger,” Omondi added.

Omondi said they are still together and Chantal will be coming over to Kenya in December for the Christmas holiday.
“Chantal and I never broke up and neither did we separate. If you read what I wrote and what she wrote, she was going to school had to handle other life things. We are not even on a break and she is coming over to Kenya for Christmas,” said Omondi.

“What Kenyans did not know is that Chantal has never been Kenyan; she is Italian. Whenever she jetted into Kenya, she always came to visit me. With her tourist visa, she cannot work in the country.
"And, she recently asked me if I can allow her to permanently stay in Italy and get formal employment there. And because I had seen her stay in my house doing nothing meaningful, I saw it wise to grant her her request. Given we would stay far apart from each other over an unknown period, we reached a mutual agreement to end the relationship,” Eric told Edaily on phone.
