John Wanjohi Jan 12, 2020

Nairobi Woman Representative Esther Passaris has been discharged from the hospital after undergoing an operation nearly two weeks ago.

Passaris had spinal surgery at the Care Institute of Medical Sciences (CIMS) in Ahmedabad, India on January 1st and has been recuperating at the facility.

“Discharged and recuperating with physio, counselling & wound care. Dr @prizz_gopu, Dr @DipaliVaghela2 and Nirrali my care giver have been invaluable. Got two scheduled blood tests in the coming days. All being well, I'll be home very soon. Thank you all for your kind wishes,” Passaris announced through Twitter on Sunday.

This was the third time in a period of one year that Passaris, 55, has been admitted to hospital for surgery. Last September, she had an operation at the Aga Khan Hospital in Nairobi to address issues with her back pain that dated back to 20 years ago when she gave birth to her son.

In January 2019, Passaris underwent thyroidectomy at the Nairobi Hospital, a procedure that saw her lose both thyroid glands.
