Deputy President William Ruto Denies Being Snubbed by Uhuru in Mombasa

Deputy President William Ruto has dismissed claims that President Kenyatta recently snubbed him in Mombasa.

The Saturday Standard reported that Kenyatta this week held a meeting with 24 Governors in Mombasa but failed to invite DP Ruto despite him being in the coastal city.

But on Saturday, DP Ruto through Twitter dismissed the article titled “Uhuru Snubs Ruto, Again” as “propaganda nonsense” and asked Kenyans to ignore the claims.

"Kenyans should ignore this choreographed, paid-for propaganda nonsense. I was in the office the whole day never in Mombasa," DP Ruto wrote.

In the article, The Standard claimed that Ruto flew from Wilson Airport in Nairobi and arrived in Mombasa by 10 am but returned to the capital in the afternoon where he met a group of leaders. The newspaper added that none of the governors allied to Ruto attended the meeting with Uhuru.

After the meeting on Thursday, Uhuru was spotted with Governor Hassan Joho at the popular Barka Restaurant in Mombasa, where they reportedly had lunch.
