Ruto: How I will Run a Corruption-Free Gov’t if Elected in 2022

John Wanjohi Jan 24, 2020

Deputy President William Ruto says he will run a corruption-free government should he succeed President Kenyatta in 2022.

Speaking during an interview with NTV on Thursday night, Ruto indicated that his administration will be development-oriented and no single shilling will be left hanging for anybody to steal.

“If I get the opportunity to run a government, there will be no corruption. There will be no money to steal because every coin will be used. There will be no coin loitering anywhere for anyone to steal,” DP Ruto declared.

He also dismissed claims that he is a corrupt leader, accusing his political rivals of advancing a false narrative about the source of his wealth in an attempt to derail his quest to take over the country’s leadership.

“I don’t think the war against corruption is targeting me until it becomes apparent. Why are you saying I’m corrupt because I’m running for president yet I’m a son of a peasant,” he said.

“Let us accept that people from humble backgrounds have gotten themselves somewhere and can equally excel in the political arena.”
