Canada Invites 3500 to Apply for Permanent Residence through the Express Entry Program, Targets 85800 ITAs for 2020
The government of Canada issued 3,500 invitations to apply (ITAs) for permanent resident through the Express Entry program in a draw held on Wednesday, February 5th.
The minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score required to qualify for the latest draw was 472, up 1 point from the 471 cut-off point from the last draw held on January 22nd. The CRS score is based on factors such as the applicant’s age, education level, job skills, language skills, and family ties in Canada.
Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), the department that runs the Express Entry program, has now issued a Toal of 10,300 ITAs in 2020, and has set a total of 85,800 ITAs through Express Entry in 2020.
The next step for those who receive ITAs is to submit an application for permanent residence, which they are required to do within 60 days. The government completes applications for permanent residence within 6 months as long as all supporting documents are provided. Those granted permanent residence are eligible to move, work and live in Canada permanently along with their spouse and children.
