Political Leaders Are Closer to God Because They are Sinners, Esther Passaris Says
Nairobi Woman Representative Esther Passaris claims that political leaders are closer to God because they are "sinners."
Passaris, who was responding to a Twitter user who wondered why Deputy President William Ruto associates himself with God despite being involved in what he termed as "devilish thingd", said Jesus died for the sinners and that is why most politicians are "closer" to God.
Twitter user Hon. Wilson Ogweno wrote: "You [DP Ruto] can not lean on God’s side wickedly doing devilish things really! Kenyans are awake."
In response, Passaris noted: “Jesus died for the sinners. If leaders sin, they’re closer to God than you know."
She added that becoming a politician amounts to “joining sinners” so as to be seen by God.
"By the way, you use the title honorable, I assume you shall be joining the sinners soon so God can see you too?” Passaris added.
Passaris further noted that the values and character of both the voters and leaders are similar.
"Values and Character are constants in voters as there are in leaders. We are no more or less."
