Dennis Itumbi Loses State House Job
Journalist and blogger Dennis Itumbi has lost his job at State House.
Itumbi ceased to be a State House employee together with four others after their positions were declared redundant by the Public Service Commission (PSC) on Wednesday.
Itumbi was the Director of Digital and Diaspora Communications at the Presidential Strategic Communications Unit (PSCU), which was disbanded.
Others who were fired include James Kinyua who was in charge of Events and Branding, Erick Ng’eno (Speech Writing and Research), David Nzioka and John Ndolo.
As a result, Itumbi has edited his Twitter bio to remove the PSCU Director title. It now indicates he is a “pig farmer”
In November last year, Kenyans online wondered whether Itumbi was still a State House staff after he was embarrassingly ejected from the main dais by President Uhuru’s security men at the Bomas of Kenya during the launch of the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) taskforce report.
Itumbi, who openly supports Deputy President William Ruto online, has in the recent past been criticizing President Uhuru’s administration.
He was last year arrested and charged over allegations of authoring a fake letter that claimed there was a plot to assassinate DP Ruto over his quest to succeed Uhuru in 2022.
