Moses Kuria Calls Out Governor Joho for Failing to Self-Isolate After US, Dubai Trip

John Wanjohi Mar 22, 2020

Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria has accused Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho of defying the government’s directive requiring anyone arriving from abroad to self-quarantine for 14 days over coronavirus.

In a post on his Twitter page on Sunday, Kuria claimed that Governor Joho recently returned to the country after an extended trip in the United States, Israel and Dubai.

Kuria noted that Joho did not bother to self-isolate or go for Covid-19 testing, thus putting other people at risk.

"My friend, my brother @HassanAliJoho you came from a long trip to Israel, USA and Dubai and you have neither self-quarantined nor gone for testing,” Kuria wrote.

He added: “You can’t roam Mombasa streets and golf at Vipingo nonchalantly. Corona Virus is real. Unajua nakupenda bure lakini tuambiane ukweli.”

Kuria has been vocal about the epidemic and has made multiple social media posts reminding his followers to observe hygiene and other recommended measures.

Kenya has so far confirmed seven Covid-19 cases with the Health Ministry indicating that all patients returned from abroad recently.

The last three cases to be confirmed involved a couple who traveled from Madrid, Spain and a Burundian national who arrived in Nairobi from Dubai.
