Kenyans Online Attack US-Based Lawyer Makau Mutua for Promoting Homosexuality

US-based Kenyan lawyer Prof. Makau Mutua is under fire from Kenyans online for defending banned lesbian-themed romance film ‘Rafiki.’

Prof. Mutua, through Twitter on Thursday, April 30th, faulted the Kenyan high court for upholding the ban imposed on the movie by Kenya Film Classification Board (KFCB).

“Whether you are STRAIGHT, GAY, or ASEXUAL, you should CONDEMN the decision by Kenyan courts to BAN Rafiki, the acclaimed movie that’s won accolades all over the globe,” posted Mutua.

He further provided a link on his Twitter page and asked his followers to click it to watch the controversial film.

“Watch RAFIKI (exploring same-sex relationships in Kenya) for FREE here —https://tinyzonetv.to/watch-movie/watch-rafiki-2018-free-1521.1707736 …. It’s the acclaimed movie @EzekielMutua and the Kenyan courts have BANNED.”

Led by KFCB CEO Dr. Ezekiel Mutua, Kenyans online bashed Makau Mutua, accusing him of promoting homosexuality.

Ezekiel Mutua tweeted: “I have seen Prof. @makaumutua promoting the film “Rafiki” that was banned by @InfoKfcb. The ban was upheld by the Kenyan court this week, but the gay sympathizer wants everyone to watch the film. What pleasure, pray, does one find in watching two girls kiss each other?” he posed.

He added: “A man who claims to be a Prof. of anything like @makaumutua should not promote homosexual content against the court ruling. He should go to the court of appeal and contest the ruling. The film “Rafiki” is banned from distribution, exhibition or possession in Kenya.”
