Former Cabinet Secretary Mwangi Kiunjuri Launches New Political Party, The Service Party (TSP)
Former Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Mwangi Kiunjuri has unveiled a new political party dubbed The Service Party (TSP).
Speaking during the launch at the party’s main offices located on 14 Riverside Drive in Westlands, Nairobi, Kiunjuri said the party has officials across the country.
He noted that most of the officials were unable to attend the launching due to the existing travel restrictions imposed by the government to contain the spread of Covid-19.
The party whose slogan is ‘Huduma-Twajiamini’ was fully registered after meeting all the required thresholds, Kiunjuri said.
Kiunjuri, who was fired from Cabinet by President Kenyatta early this year, said TSP intends to approach politics differently—from the grass-root level.
“We have listened carefully to Kenyans and made the commitment to bring forth a platform that as our name suggests, will be unequivocal about service delivery to our people,” said Kiunjuri.
“TSP believed that Kenya will change dramatically over the next decade. We have the opportunity to pull together and ensure that those changes are fair, inclusive, sustainable, and will positively impact our shared destiny.”
After his dismissal from Cabinet, Kiunjuri said he was "not going anywhere" and would be around. “Make no mistake. I am not going anywhere, I will be with you around. For any action, there will be a reaction. You keep it cool; I keep it cool,” he said.
