Kenyan Students Invited to Study in the UK as Application Window Opens

Kenyan students have been invited to study in the UK following the opening of a new application window.

The British High Commission in Nairobi through Twitter on Monday urged Kenyans who wish to undertake further studies in UK universities to take advantage of the opportunity.

“Thinking of studying in the UK? Good news – university admissions for 2020 are happening now! UK universities are among the best in the world and in 2018/19 they welcomed over 2000 students,” the commission tweeted.

The UK said that it looks forward to having new students in autumn 2020 with institutions of higher learning offering both in-person and virtual classes due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

“Our open and inclusive way of life will inspire you, our rich cultural history will fire your imagination and – as our universities are the among the most trusted and respected in the entire world – you’ll be able to develop your best and brightest ideas by studying here.”

“UK universities are preparing to welcome new students in autumn 2020. Almost all universities are preparing to deliver some in-person teaching this autumn term. Some will blend face-to-face teaching with online technology and tools to enhance student education and ensure teaching is delivered in a safe environment. In the UK, your wellbeing comes first,” a statement posted on the British Council website reads.

The application window for undergraduate courses runs from July 6th to October 20th while postgraduate vacancies remain open throughout summer.

Foreign students are required to pay £300 per year for Immigration Health Surcharge for them to be enrolled in the National Health Service (NHS) without additional charges.

Applicants must prove their mastery of the English language before being allowed to study in the UK.
