Meet a Kenyan Man Who Owns 160 Brightly Colored Suits, 300 Caps and 200 Pairs of Shoes
59-year-old Kenyan man, James Maina Mwangi is trending on the internet over his unique sense of fashion.
Mwangi, a resident of Nairobi’s Umoja estate, has always attracted attention with his brightly colored suits, shoes, and hats.
In the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic, he has added matching facemasks to complete his matching outfits.
“Men knew how to wear clothes in black, brown, grey or dark blue. Those were men’s colors. God gave me wisdom and showed me all the different colors I can wear to be different from everybody else,” he told Reuters in a recent interview.
Mwangi says he owns 160 suits, 300 caps, and more than 200 pairs of shoes including facemasks. Whenever he goes out, he steps out in matching outfits.
Asked why he chose to be wearing matching outfits every day, he explained that when he first arrived in Nairobi, he was wearing one shirt and people would laugh at him because his father was a poor man.
Mwangi, who earns a living as a jack of all trades, believes he is the smartest looking man in all of Africa, if not the world. Here are some photos of Mwangi in his outfits.
