Former MP Ramadhan Kajembe's Daughter Dies 2 Weeks After Father Succumbed to Covid-19

John Wanjohi Aug 19, 2020

Langoni Kajembe, the daughter of former and late Changamwe MP Ramadhan Kajembe is dead.

Langoni passed away on Wednesday night at Pandya Hospital in Mombasa, where she had been admitted.

Her death comes barely two weeks after her father succumbed to Covid-19 at the same hospital on August 7th.

The Star reported that Langoni had been admitted at the facility’s ICU for weeks and is said to have died of Covid-19. She missed her father’s funeral as she was hospitalized.

Kajembe also passed on two weeks after his second wife Zaharia died of coronavirus-related complications. His first wife, Aziza succumbed to an undisclosed illness four months before Zaharia’s death.

The family had earlier demanded an apology from Health CS Mutahi Kagwe for linking their brother to the deaths of their parents. The family termed as untrue claims that their brother refused to isolate after testing positive and went on to interact with his parents and siblings.

“Our brother did not go back home to our parents. The same can be confirmed from the certificates issued,” said Harun Kajembe while addressing the press at their home.

Fatma Kajembe said: “How can you claim my brother killed my parents? Its corona that killed my parents not my brother. In fact, it’s the government that brought corona by allowing flights in the country. Mutahi Kagwe Kenyans are tired of the numbers you announce every day. Tell us what plans do you have to defeat corona.”
