42-Year-Old Woman Who Wanted to Marry Class 8 Boy Arrested

Police in Migori County have arrested a 42-year-old woman for allegedly defiling a 14-year-old boy.

The woman was found with the Class Eight pupil at her house in Nyamaraga, Suna West Sub-County on Saturday evening.

The two were in a love relationship for long and had defied several warnings from the boy’s parents to end the affair, according to area Assistant Chief Evance Nyarube.

She was arrested after irate residents reported her alleged relationship with the teenager with initial investigations revealing that the woman had expressed plans to marry the minor.

Nyarube said the woman was placed under police custody pending arraignment in court to face defilement charges under the Sexual Offenses Act.

“A person who commits an offense of defilement with a child between the age of 12 and 15 years is liable upon conviction to imprisonment for a term of not less than 20 years,” part of the act states.
