Kenya is the Safest Place to Visit During Pandemic, Says World's Most Traveled Man
Fred Finn, the world's most traveled man, is currently on a tour to Kenya.
The 79-year-old British national has visited more than 150 countries, which earned him two entries into the Guinness Book of World Records as the world’s most travelled man.
Addressing reporters at Leopard Beach Hotel in Diani, Kwale County on Thursday, Finn described Kenya as the safest holiday destination to visit during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Of all the countries he has visited during the pandemic, Finn says he observed Kenyans are adhering to Covid-19 protocols more than citizens from other nations.
“I did not come here on holiday, that is why my wife is not with me. I came because whenever Kenya has a little crisis I come and say Kenya is safe,” he said
Finn, who is in the country until Monday, is scheduled to have his vaccine in December. Tourism players hailed Finn's visit to Kenya, saying it markets the country as an ideal destination.
“When you get an endorsement from the eyes of a traveler that is likely to carry the right persuasion to the potential travelers,” said Kioko Musyoki, Leopard Beach General Manager.
In a past interview, Finn who has visited Africa over 600 times said Kenya is his favorite country while Nigeria is his worst.
"Kenya has everything, including 15,000ft mountains on the equator with snow all year round and the people are brilliant. It also has lakes like Lake Victoria which have brilliant fishing," said Finn, who manages an orphanage in Kenya.
"Nigeria is full of conmen, I don't like the dry climate and there are rip-offs everywhere."
