Kenyans Urged to Apply for UK’s Master's Scholarships

Kenya’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom Manoah Esipisu has urged Kenyans to apply for Queen Elizabeth Commonwealth Scholarships (QECS).

The programme offers a full scholarship for a two-year master’s degree for students from low or middle-income Commonwealth countries.

The scholarships are aimed at students who are committed to creating change in their communities.

“Through cultural exchange and academic collaboration, Queen Elizabeth Commonwealth Scholars help bring about positive change and find solutions to the shared challenges we face – both in their home countries and those that host them. As an active part of the Commonwealth network, scholars will shape its future,” a statement from Queen Elizabeth Commonwealth Scholarship Scheme states.

Prospective candidates are advised to apply for scholarships from their home country. 

Successful applicants will be entitled to full tuition fees, a living allowance for the period of study, a return ticket to their home country, an arrival allowance, and a research grant upon request.

To qualify for consideration, one must submit their personal, academic, and employment details, as well as an essay with three sections.

The deadline for application is January 18th, 2021.
